Blogging for Money and Fun

Many people are drawn to the idea of making money online. Everyone wants to be able to sit home and work in their pajamas. This idea seams great but it most cases is not realistic. With the exception of just a handful of people, making money online takes just as much, if not more effort than a normal 9-5 job.

There are lots of different ways you can make money online. One of the newest things to do is to start up your own blog to make some money. But how do you make money doing that?

It isn't easy, but it's not rocket science either. With a lot of hard work and a little luck you will be able to quit that full time job and make enough money online that you can support yourself.

There are four main ways that you make money blogging.

1. Sell your services
2. Sell a product
3. Affiliate Market
4. Advertise

Selling a service has always been a great way to make money, but how can you do this blogging? You can promote yourself by using a blog. 

A blog is essentially free advertising. It doesn't get any better than than. If you can provide helpful information for your customers then when they are ready to hire someone you will automatically be there go to guy.

Selling a product is a another great way to make money blogging. But again how are you going to do this with a blog. 

If you have a physical product you can use your blog basically the same way you would if you were trying to sell a service, but selling a product that can be delivered electronically is where the real money is in blogging.

Selling an e-product is great because it is free to produce and replicate, and there is no inventory. This product could be anything. An instructional video or mp3 file, a ebook, or an online training seminar. 

An ebook is a really popular choice for most bloggers. If you have built a following of people that read your blog you can normally create an ebook that is related to your blog. This could be something that is all new material or merely just a compilation of some of your best posts.

Affiliate marketing is something that you can add to your blog pretty much anytime. It is probably the most flexible income opportunity, and it also has the potential to make you money on every post. 

Affiliate marketing for blogs basically just boils down to recommending products that you have used to other people. When you do this, you link to the product page with a special link that tracks that visitors came from your blog.

There are even whole sites that are set up just to promote one product and make money from the affiliate sales.

Advertising is another great way to make money blogging. This one is actually extremely simple. There are 2 different ways to put advertising into action on your blog.

First you can sign up for google adsense or a similar service and then Google will scan your site and put up relevant ads and then display them on your site. Every time someone clicks on these ads then Google will pay you a certain amount. This amount can vary quite a bit. Anywhere from a few cents all the way to several dollars per click. This method of advertising is called pay per click or PPC.

The 2nd way you can make money blogging is by selling advertising space on your blog. You can sell banners or other ads somewhere on your bog that people will pay you to put there. Normally to do this you have to be getting a decent amount of traffic to your blog. The priced for these ads can also vary quite a bit but you are genrally paid a lump sum that is based on how long the ad is going to be up and how many visits you normally get. 

Don't be afraid to use more than one of the methods that I have described here to make money blogging. As a matter of fact I recommend you use 2-3 of them at a time, but that might not work for you. If you think you should just sell a service then do that. What is important here is that you know what is availabe to you now.

Remember the best way to make money blogging is to get some experience so get out there and get started.
